Trying to get it...

So I've been playing around trying to get my DOF (depth of field) working.... I say working but really it means my brain working around it all.  I've attempted some photos and changed my f-stop but it's not quite doing what I want.  I will play some more though.

Here's a pic of my little man eating his lunch yesterday.  I'm not liking that the auto ISO is so high.  This pic was taken at f5.6, 1/30 and 1250 ISO... Should I manually bring it down?  I thought there was enough light that it would have auto-iso'd to maybe 200.  I do like that I had a narrow DOF.

    I recognize some of the words and stuff, and I can check all that stuff on my camera, but I'm not sure how much I can manually change it on mine?! I guess I will have to play with mine more too.
